The first royal palace in Paris, ideally situated on the banks of the Seine in the Ile de la Cité

Wonderfully situated on the banks of the Seine, on the Ile de la Cité at the heart of Paris, the Conciergerie is a unique venue with exceptional gothic rooms built in the 14th century by King Philippe IV the Fair. In this period, the Conciergerie retained the Guardroom and the huge Men-At-Arms Hall. With the Holy Chapel they provide the most important evidence of the first Parisian royal palace. The Conciergerie is an important UNESCO world heritage site.
