    - Admission price for individual visitors who are neither nationals nor residents of an EEA* country: €30

Presentation

The Hall of the Guards and the huge Hall of the Gens d'Armes, built under Philip the Fair, and the kitchens, built under John the Good, remain from the medieval Palais de la Cité.

The kings of France left the palace at the end of the 14th century to move to the Louvre and Vincennes. Judicial activity developed here, and prisons were built. The Conciergerie became a major place of detention during the French Revolution, when the Revolutionary Court was set up there. Its most famous prisoner was Marie-Antoinette. A memorial chapel was built on the site of her cell during the Restoration.

Group visits

For all self-guided visits for adults in the Conciergerie (8 people or more), or for groups of fewer than 8 people who need the right to speak, an advanced booking is required via our professional e-ticketing system. 

  • For the Conciergerie, the individual group rate is €11.50
  • For the combined ticket Sainte-Chapelle/Conciergerie, reservations are made in units of 8 people. Each time slot is divided into 3 units of 8 people, i.e. 24 people per time slot.

The price of a package for 8 people is €180, i.e.:

  • 2 to 8 people (1 unit): €180
  • 9 to 16 people (2 units): €360
  • 17 to 24 people (3 units): €540

Payment methods

  • Payment at the monument ticket office by credit card, cheque or cash
  • Payment in advance by credit card, cheque or bank transfer using the advance ticket service .

Practical information

Individual visit:

  • Come to the monument during opening hours

Group visits:

  • Booking is compulsory. Please contact the monument's reservations department
  • Your group may be accompanied by its own guide. To do so, the guide must have a valid professional guide's card and be wearing the badge authorising him or her to lead the tour.
